I Have a Go Fund Me campaign to help fund books for students
Recently I was asked to visit a public school in Brooklyn. I was honored by the request, but thought of the difficulty getting to the school. I have done presentations locally around the capital region of New York where I reside. Having grown up near New York City, I understand what is involved with getting from point A to point B. Yes, I may get compensation for the travel expenses and a minimal amount for the presentation. However, I would love for each student to have a copy of my book.
My goal is to have funds set aside which would allow me to give a signed copy of my book to every student who is less fortunate than the average kid. I would also love to send copies of my book to children’s hospitals throughout the United States of America. The money would be used to help me get to areas when there might be none or not enough compensation for the travel expenses. Also, it will be used mostly to provide copies of my book to the students. I live a simple life and always strive for the middle ground. If I decide to give books to children in a particular class, then all the students of the class will get a copy.
I can set an unlimited amount and as God is my witness, it will be used as stated above.
As seen on my blog in my website, I donate a significant amount of my proceeds to the organization that sponsors me. For example, on July 4th, I set up a table at the town center after the annual parade. The donation is given to the Town of Clifton Park Department of Parks and Recreation to go towards a handicapped swing or some improvement for people with disabilities. I will keep doing events and there is always “giving back”.
It would be amazing to not have to worry about handing out books to children who don’t have the means of obtaining a copy.
